Bug bites & terrable itch.
« on: December 26, 2009, 08:15:15 AM »
Well, while visiting the "Dark Side", I got bit by the bug, and got a 2240 to customize. I have a new barrel and steel receiver on order at Crosman.

For Christmas, I got a new Discovery, and my son gave me a Walther 1.5-4.5X off of his Springer. We made a trip to Wal-Mart, and got Weaver .22 rim fire rings, and I'm sighted in for mice in the house.

I have so many bites right now, I don't know what to itch first. Well, yes I do. The 2240, will get the longer barrel, steel reciever and a scope. The Discovery will get a trigger job in the near future.

Now to look for a big bore air gun, Oh, no, I can't believe I said that. I'll go broke on air rifles!

Post Script,

Thank you, all who have posted photos of custom builds, and modifications. I'm very hooked. :o)

Gordon good deal! I for one was very worried about you as you cant have just one airgun.  Now I think you know where I stand on Big-bores, that was my start into airguns years ago so let me save you a bunch of time by asking, have you tried Field Target?
 Keep us posted.

Hi John,
Honestly, I'm so new at this, I have not fired enough pellets to even call myself an air gun enthusiast. Other than hearing the name Field Target, I know nothing about it.
If you would like to PM me at  dempseygordon@netscape.net  , I would enjoy learning more.

Hi Dave,
Thank you. I think this will be a rather fun journey,  as I'll be able to shoot in the house.  I like the 2240 and I'm sure I'll like the Discovery just as much.
I'm looking forward to the simpler modifications I can make, and I'm sure that is part of the fascination.
