Oversea help needed.
« on: December 26, 2009, 11:28:08 PM »
Hy guys,not new to the forum,but most of the times I write in the hunting gate.Everything was goin' great with my 3 Gamos 'till two weeks ago,during a training session,the Shadow sport's spring broke!!! I new It'd happen sooner or later(better training than hunting ;) and I took it as an occasion to complete the tune up with a Maccari spring and seal,and now came the problems :((
I contacted the next day Mr Maccari at ARH asking if I could order the kit from my country and he said there were no chanches for him to ship again in Italy due to many losses in past shipments,I tryed different ways with the only result of an italian imported Maccari kit for $194.37(spring,guide seal and tophat)this price it's out of my budget(I can buy a used rifle for the same).Now I'm asking if there's a nice guy who would buy the coils and seals for me and sand it to me in Italy(totally at my expenses + few tins of your favorite pellets for the bother)
Thanks in advance to all of you here at GTA,
Emiliano.

Can't help you also....I'm in Canada and only registered gun smiths are allowed to receive >500fps airgun springs.  I had to jump through some hoops to get the 1000fps springs from Crosman to me.  By the way...the Crosman springs are not expensive....around $7.00U.S....maybe a member here can manage to get a few over to you.  Good luck.

Hello Emiliano,

It seems the problem is that Jim Maccari will not ship because of LOST SHIPPMENTS !

I doubt that any of us will have any better luck than he has. And if our package is lost, we will be out the cost of the KIT and the International shipping !!!!

So by trying to do you a favor, we will be in for the loss, and you will still not have your kit !

Sorry, but it is a loss- loss situation.

I think there may be some misunderstanding here. Are you asking someone here to buy the kit with their money or that you will send the money for the kit and postage?

Hy guys,thanks for the reply,I wouldn't dare to ask a favor with the risk of loosing your money,I'd send the total amount of money ( kit+shipping+present) before anyone would buy anything,this way the only one risking something might be me.Regarding the shipping I have to agree with Mr Maccari due to his business(I know italian postal service is often faulty) but I'm currently buying from US,Australia,Asia,Africa and I'v never had any issue (except the usual delay ),last one I ordered two GRT III blades from Bob and they arrived in one week and a half without a problem.The point are:
1- I'm sure it won't be any loss in the shipment ;
2- all the money will be sent prior to buy the stuff;
3- the only one who can loose something is me( and the time someone might spend in this favour)
Thanks again to all of you anyway,
Emi.

Just a thought, is it legal to mail a spring kit to italy, it maybe why they go missing? Is the gamo sport the same as a gamo shadow 1000 spring, guide and seal?

Most of the Gamo adult  rifles use the same powerplant,tha difference between FAC and normal (here in Europe) is a small hole in the piston which lower the power to the limit,the coils are the same of those full power rifles,I can easily byu a Gamo coil but it won't be an upgread to my setup.
The main reason for the losses is that most of the italians can't understand a word of english and don't know how to menage a problem with theyr postal service (always very slow and not professional),I'v ordered from most of the countryes all over the world and never lost a buck ( or I'd say an €  :p ).
I wish to all of you a 2010 full of fun & health (...and a bit of money too  :emoticon: )

Here's an English outfit , T.W. Chambers & Co., that has spares for most air rifles - http://www.gunspares.co.uk .  If you can't find a spring for the Shadow Sport listed, they also have exploded view parts diagrams for every Gamo model; look up your spring, then find another model with the same spring, and order that.  Or, just give them a call, looks like they are pretty knowledgeable folks.

Thanks for the advice,I already know tha site,my problem isn't that I can't reach another original coil to repair my Gamo,those are aesy to find here(the gunshop near me can supply it within one week)the point was to finish my tune up  upgradeing the original coil and seal with Maccari specific/long lasting parts.
Anyway your contribution is greatly apreciated,still waiting for more luck  :)
