Most powerful BB gun available?

What is the most powerful BB gun made that we can readily get? Not a couple thousand dollar one-off type but one we can buy online or at the stores?

Have a use for one for something and would like a repeater of some type rather than single shot. No problem of enclosed shooting and bounce back but outdoor use. Will be kept in the barn and taken out for quick nailing of little furry/feathered creatures just outside the building. No problem with anything in the background.

Relative accuracy is OK as I could get used to the tendency to shoot a bit to one side like the old Daisy used to do. Just want to be able to put some round balls into unwanted pests.

From what I read the Daisy BB's are pretty good and Pyramyd has some super-duper BB's that are supposed to be even better.

What are the best options out there these days?

Daisy 880 powerline served me well for 20 years before it gave up the ghost.I think there in the 650 to 700 fps range and pretty accurate.also hold about 100 bb's in the body loaded with a bolt action.new ones are all plastic but older ones are wood and metal if you can find one.

Well you don't want a "bb" gun but rather a pellet gun. The pellets will be more accurate, heavier (retain their energy better) and may even deform slightly making an even bigger entry and exit wound. Since you specify a repeater it limits your choices quite a bit. There are plenty of pellet pistols that are repeaters (running on CO2) that would be fine for mice, rats and the odd bird. If you want a rife you could go for the Crosman 1077 which shoots a medium pellet around 550-600fps which is adequate for what you're after. You can shoot it quite quickly too if you want. The main issue I'd see with that is that I see you are in ND which means some of the time it will be rather cold-- CO2 shoots weakly in the cold temps.

If you do indeed want a BB gun (or combo BB/pellet) then in addition to the rather weak Red Ryder style (not recommend for your uses!) you probably will have to go with a multipump such as the Daisy 880 already mentioned. There are other multi pumps that would also do such as the 760 or Airmaster 77 as well. While it's nice to have a quick followup shot without reloading as would be possible with a single pump or lever action the problem you'll face is that BB's aren't nearly as accurate as pellets. You can get off more rounds at your target but might not hit what you're aiming at :-) For bang for your buck, power and availability I'd probably go with the Daisy 880 available at Walmart and shoot pellets out of it. Anyway, that's my 2 cents :-)

I already have the pellet rifle covered with the Evanix Blizzard, the inherited Diana model 48 and a just brought in Tech Force 89. My bud who was taking care of our place bought the Tech Force and loaned it to a neighbor who, after talking with him, brought it to me and said 'merry christmas from Kurt', the bud who had it.

So, more pellet rifles I don't need.(at least not yet)

Am looking fora powerful BB only. OK if it shoots pellets but that isn't what I will use it for. A beater BB gun with power to keep in the barn is the intended use. Not a beater when I get it but from experience I know it will get knocked around a bit and weathered over a few years of being there.

Crosman 2100 Classic/Remington Airmaster 77. Same rifle, different name. 755 fps with BBs. Metal receiver. Have had one since 1985. There's some pretty decent power upgrades possible, too. Go to the Crosman gate, then click on the forum index link. Then click on the forum tech link at top left of page. Then click on Crosman 2200 rework link. 8th link down from top on left side of page. The 2200 was the same gun except in .22 cal with a square back receiver.

If you want more power than that, you can get a Benjamin 397. It's pellet only, but it's a powerful .177 pumper and has potential for easier pumping and even more power.

Baikal drozd perhaps? Screw on a longer barrel, adjust the pot and it will be doing ~700 fps with 6 shot bursts. Add HPA at 1200-1400 PSI and you'll be past 800fps. Some have even modified them to trans/supersonic speeds.

Oops! I forgot about the Drozd. shame on my, since I own one. They can be modded for some crazy power and firing rates.
6 lead BBs at 1,200 rounds per minute would drop a squirrel in it's tracks. Or even steel BBs, with a longer, smoothbore barrel. In fact, a longer, smoothbore barrel is one of my projects that I need to work on.

What pests are you after? If squirrels, I would not shoot them with a BB gun. Should it penetrate, they will end up with infected wounds. If you want to run them off, go for a weak gun that will only sting them.

Crosman 760 with a smoothbore barrel (current model) makes for a fairly powerful and fairly accurate with Daisy BBs.

Quite, in modded form it's about as effective as 20 gauge shotgun in pest control. Although a shotgun would alert neighbors much easier and drozd is easier to handle.

If you can find one, a Benjamin 310 multi-pump might be the most powerful repeater, although you will have to re-pump, which makes two quick shots kind of impossible (unless you can work an air conserving modification such as that on the 392AC from Airzona.)
