News to no-one I'm sure, but Cabelas has refurb S1Ks for $119 and change. These are advertised as combos to include a scope.

Placed order for reurb Shadow on march 30. Received said airgun today April 3. Been busy trying to get wife's car started in between calls to O.R.
Gun was double boxed, outer box looked to be in great shape. Gun itself and scope appeared to be boxed as though building was on fire. No, they aren't burnt, but it looked like someone was really in a hurry.
Would like to offer extensive test report, however must fix car...Need sleep...Someone please shoot me...Very tired now...Go to bed...Wife wants divorce...Says I have too many airguns, not enough quality time...Shoot me...Please...Seriously,

I gave it to her gently being as it was our first time alone together. Yes I put in the requesite 15 minutes of fondling, cuddling,  sweet whispers, all that $#1T.

I bent her in half and slid one in her, picked her up in a warm embrace and gave her the gentlest squeeze. Wham!!! Man did she make my ears ring! Well, until I get all that lube out, that's the last time we do it in the house.

I took her out to my shop and started taking all her things  off. There was grease everywhere. Lots of it. I didn't want to go to far with her so all I did was wipe her down, tar her twanger and polish the thing I like to rub my finger on.

I then proceded to mount her with the long, hard, black thing she arrived with. I feel as though it may be long enough, but girth will probably be an issue. Gonna have to get her a bigger one.

I propped her up on the bench and we started doing it all over again. And again, and again. Every time she went off, she made a lot of noise... and smoke would come out of her. I wonder what the neighbors must think of us?

She seems to be fairly consistent in where she puts it, but man did my finger get tired. Gonna have to send Charlie another M.O. for some relationship aids. I hope you guys don't think me less of a man for calling in for assistance... If you knew her, you'd consider it yourselves.

Hey Dookie,, I was wondering why you did not by the New S1K for $115.00??? It was posted in the Bargain Gate two weeks ago.
Sounds like you have allot of oil in your chamber.. You will not really know your true FPS numbers until it is all cleared out of there...:)

Good Luck

You live and you learn Gene.

I went this route because the refurb from Cabela's came with a scope, whereas the $115 job did not. If I had it to do all over again, I would have gone with a b26 or something.

I mainly wanted something cheap to convert to .20 cal. We'll see how it goes, but so far I think we're gonna be Ok. I have new seals, piston buttons and tar coming from Air Rifle Headquarters, I'll be ordering another one of Bob's triggers and then I'll do a proper tune and get all the crap out.

Later, I will be ordering a tune kit with bearing from Richard as well as .20 cal barrel and shroud.

Gotta do something about that P.O.S of a scope though. And the mounts...Say, why did I go with that gun. Think I'll be calling Cabela's tomorrow.

Oh ok, I see now...:) I got a .20 cal L/W choked barrel from Rich about six months back.. After the Turbo Tune and the barrel conversion, my S1K .20 is one of the best shooters I own..:) I can stack pellets at 40 yards with it....

Simmons 4-12X40 ProAir on the S1K .20......... There is no secret Dookie..:) The man who tunes my air rifles has done over 18 of them and every one of them are great shooters.. Not to mention the GRT-III triggers which all have less than 1 lb of pull with a great feel on the second stage...:)

Well, I sent her packing today. Couldn't take that skinny black thing she wanted me to put on her.

Actually there was nothing wrong with the gun. I just realized that I could do better money wise.

Considering the scope that came with the gun, I was still going to be out more money for a scope. Think I'll just wait for what I really wanted in the first place, which is... I'm still not sure.

Hay Mike,

Join the club, After I bought my 890-S, I didn't like it at all, but I decided to make the best of it. I began to look for a better air rifle, something with a real good trigger !  Well Mike I'm still looking, himmin and hawyn, just can't put my finger on that gun. Every time I think that I have found her, a new post or article puts me back to square one ?

After looking for some time for a replacement trigger, I found Charlie's GRT-III trigger. Well a new gun, I thought that I was shooting my old Anschutz target rifle!  Boy I fell in love !

But after finding the GTA, the Friendliest Airgun Forum on the Web, I began to look again, one week I go for this one, the next week I lean to that one ? Just can't make up my mind, and I know, what little of it there my be !

Best of luck lookin Mike, I think that 's why these fellows have 100 air guns each, couldn't make up there minds either, so they bought them all !

I hear ya man, I'll be flip-floppin for days. I just have to wait for Cabela's to do their thing regarding my refund and then it's on.

The GRT is definately worth it's weight in it's gold anodized finish. I e-mailed Bob and told him he ruined my gun. The good thing is this new one with the gold trigger has made up for it.

E-mailed Cabela's yesterday. It's been close to three weeks since I shipped the S1K back to them. I was trying to find out how far along they were on processing my refund. Shelley there responded that she wasn't even sure they had received my shipment.

Great, while I'm kicking my own &$$ for loosing my ticket with the tracking number, could somebody donate some airgun money to a poor dumb&$$ college student?
