Walther Falcon Hunter .22 CHEAP!
« on: January 04, 2010, 12:19:32 PM »
I don't need one but Umarex has one for $165 that is a demo.  Does come with the scope.  That's about $100 off street price.  If this were .25 I'd snatch it up but I don't need any more .22 even if this does approach 1000fps(?) in .22!

Someone buy this before I have to...

Here's the link:

http://www.umarexusa.com/product/Walther-Falcon-Hunter-Edition-DEMO,173,3.htm

An even better deal is the Mendoza RM 600 for $69!  That's about $100 off street price too!  And they have .17 and .22!

Argh, how can I pass that up?

Wish the Medoza had the peep sight. That would be a fun one to play around with. I'm thinking that, with the right lubes, you might be able to get one to diesel consistently. Oiling, as recommended, seems to be counter-productive.

wow, I'm so tempted to buy it! I have wanted a .22 caliber air rifle for a while!  and that seems like a nice one.  I like the camo also.

It's a Mendoza, not RWS. Search here and elsewhere on the Mendoza 600 (or 2800 repeater). That's a good price as they are about $165 new from PA.

wlather falcon hunter if you can handle and operate a larger airgun.   i called umarex today and they had no .22 walther falcon hunters when i called - had a .25 cal falcon hunter and some .22 walther talon magnums, though.   i got a .22 walther talon magnum.   i had the previous version.  it was the most powerful gun i've had.    you may be able to get a good mendoza, but i tried twice.

the Mendoza won't sound like a .22 rifle

I have one.  It's an accurate rifle, has nice metal work, a nice trigger, a really nice stock and feels really nice to hold and shoulder and a pretty good shooter.  However,,,,,, the "controlled dieseling" is a factor in keeping the fps up.  Without adding the chamber lube the fps will drop down into the 650 - 700 range.  It will keep consistent fps levels but they'll be much lower than "spec".

With the lower fps level it kinda makes a nice lower powered "backyard" pest shooter.  Add the chamber lube and you're back up in the 900's.

I'm glad I have one in my collection but even though I like it I don't think I'd get another one.....

But why is My Deseling Quest a 22 Mag sometimes?
& other times it Quiet like normal?
not had it apart yet but soon!!
Thank Jeff for the input on the Mandoza..

Ron,,, my Mendoza is a .177

As for your Quest..... there's a difference between "dieseling" and "detonation".  The dieseling is trace amounts of oil in the barrel burning off.... detonation is oil/lube igniting in the piston chamber from the heat and pressure.....  sounds like you may have excess oil/lube in that quest that periodically is getting into the piston chamber....
