Crosman project part 3.
« on: January 06, 2010, 09:23:56 AM »
Well it was a half way decent day so I decided to look into the internals of the Crosman Storm that I have been " personalizing".  The only thing that I can state is that I should have taken it down when it came home with me.   It was the nastiest thing .   It was a very sad sight.   I cannot describe the lube except that it appeared to be black cottage cheese.  Also the compression tube was filled with a  granular looking debris.   I later determined this to be saw dust, alot of it.   And when I examined the seal on the piston it had a reeded edge that covered the entire 360 degrees.  Very strange.   I wonder if it was from the saw dust type debris??

Anyway cleaned it all up, deburred the internals, lubed,  applied a new seal  and have test fired it.    And,   No extra parts to puzzle over.  It is a shame that stuff comes needing to be taken apart and made right.   And heating the seal in some hot water works quite well.  You then can "roll' the seal on like putting a tire on a rim.

I am very pleased with the outcome of the tune, a much better Crosman now.   And while I have no Crony,  it seems to be hitting harder. It sure sounds and feels better.
Gentleman of Fortune.

Hum-bug!
