Tesla Seals for the CFX Rotary Breech

Can anyone tell me which part number I need to buy for my CFX, which I upgraded early this year with a GRT-III trigger and Nitro Piston?  I'm reading that the stock breech seals are too wimpy for the increased power of the gas pistons and that I should upgrade them.  Any ideas?  Thanks.

Isn't the Tesla a piston seal? Are you looking for that or seals for the rolling tap? There is a post a few down from here discussing the rolling breach seals (o-rings). Seems I also saw somewhere or other that some guys have customized the breech by deepening the grooves to take a different, more substantial o-ring.

Yeah, you're right, it is.  Do you know which model I should get for my CFX with the Nitro Piston (formerly known as the Venturi Gas Ram)?

No, can't say I do. Any takers here? Check out the thread, below, about make power from a CFX. One fellow posted results of his CFX's with gas rams. He could probably tell you.

I found the part at Air Rifle Headquarters and ordered it.  Now if only Gamo would get back to me regarding a replacement rotary breech so I can get that fitted with the heavier duty seals.

I have developed my own version of the gas ram which is similar to the Nitro by Crosman. This ram is manufactured for me by an international automotive component manufacturer and passes all their stringent quality and performance tests. I can supply these rams at $75 plus postage. Full installation instructions are supplied with each ram.

A ram that will shoot at 830fps in a Gamo Shadow RSV shoots at 730fps in a CFX.
This is using 8.44gr 4.52 pellets.
Using 4.50mm pellets, the CFX velocity increases to 790fps average.

The velocity losses are due to 2 causes:
Sealing at the Rotary Breech Block
The length of the transfer port

To address both of these problem areas, I am developing a Rotary Breech Block in polyurethane which has built in seals at both the barrel and piston ends. Preliminary tests are promising, and I will post details when the new MZE rotary is available. ( MZE is pronounced M'ZAY)

I am also developing a second Rotary/Piston installation which will reduce the length of the transfer port.
Reducing the volume of this port will immediately increase the muzzle velocity.

I am a Gamo reseller/tuner/repairer, and have the full range of spare parts.

That's the response I was hoping for. Is the rotary breech one long hole? Could it be counter-bored into something like a vortex from rear to front? Will a plastic tap withstand the high temps of compression?

First off the gas ram Gamo's use the same piston and seal as the spring versions. All they did was just replaced the spring with gas ram. Yes the Tesla seal by JM is the best fit I find for replacing the stock seal. The Apex seals seem to be a bit tight in some of them.

Vince your idea sounds feasible, but putting in the rotary breech with o'ring seal is a real pain..:( Since Gamo does not keep the tube bore's with consist ant size it is a guessing game which size o'rring to use. Hopefully you are developing one with a wider area. A polymer seal maybe.
