Has anyone drilled and tapped the receiver tube for scope mounting?

On what? It'd have to be a pretty thick tube to provide enough threads for a good secure mount, and it'd have to be done in a accurate set-up to insure the holes are perpendicular.

Ditto what  Chris said,  ....seems the tubes are too thin for drilling and taping for a scope.
