You can really get "up there" with any of the Air Force guns depending on how  you set it up.  Thing to remember though is that no matter what you're shooting your gonna want to keep the fps below 1100 fps anyway or you'll start to lose accuracy fast.  

I have my .22 Condor set up right now to shoot Kodiaks at an average of 1040 fps and she's a "hammer"  :)  That's more than enough power for me  :)

I have my Condor set up with a 24 inch .25 cal barrel. It shoots .25 cal kodiaks at an average of about 975 fps with a stock valve and hammer. Have you checked out http://www.talonairgun.com?

You can in fact add quite a bit of FPE to an SS by swapping the 12 inch barrel with a longer one.  Matter of fact  I remember reading that a standard 12 inch SS .22 cal barrel will give you 26 FPE (depending on the pellet) ,,,,,, if you install a 24 inch barrel your FPE will rise to around 42 FPE  (again, depending on pellet).  This increase is just by changing the barrel.  You  don't have to mess with the hammer weight or anything else,,,,, one of the things I like about the Air Force "platform" is the versatility  :)

i have the AF Talon in .22 with everything completely standard from the factory and it clocks over 900fps with power wheel set on 10.5 and power setting on 7.

the key to "power" with the AF series rifles is a chronograph and "experimenting" with pellets and power settings.

I shot a .458 Talon that puts out 600fpe with 500grain boolits.  When I shot it, I loaded a 405grainer, and it did 550fpe.

     The very definition of muzzle flip!

Holy cow! That's impressive. Makes me look at the Talon in a whole different way. Never thought of it as a candidate for a big bore. Wonder what you could do with a .45 cal Condor.

When it's got 600 fpe with a 500grainer, I'd say that's good for hunting any game in the lower 48.

You're absolutely right, Butcher. I'd be thrilled with that power level. But even more power wouldn't make me unhappy either.  ;-)
