Soo... I wait for his 'eye' to get better. And wait... I send him an email asking for pictures of confirmation of the damage he said that the rifle I sent had -- confirm his claims of the barrel being chopped and damage to the bluing. He acted annoyed. I repeated to him all the things I found wrong with the rifle he sent... most obvious of which his claim that there was only a tin of pellets put through a 10 year-old rifle. I told him I just wanted to learn from the experience. He responded that he wanted me to leave him alone, that there was a 3-day limit on exchanges, no exceptions, and that any further emails from me would be trashed unread.
Guess that confirms it for me. So I went out to try and shoot it, finally, knowing that I was stuck with it. It shoots, it is reasonable smooth, but even with maxed adjustments to the open sights right and up, it hits left and down by about 3/4ths of an inch @ 10 yards. The groupings are OK. guess I'll have to check the barrel to see if it is bent. But I guess I got screwed. I will write up the details and post here on the classifieds and on the BOI.
But watch out for Virgil Clark. Thanks for the info.
