questions on my QB362/TF99

I was shooting my QB362/ techforce 99 all of a sudden it wouldnt cock.  I took it apart and it has a broken spring and a bad piston seal (leather).  What are my options on finding a new spring and seal.  Will a spring from any other gun fit or do i have to get one exact.  I would like to put a synthetic seal in it if thats possible or do I have to stay with the leather kind thats in the gun originally.
 I really like the gun its probably about the most accurate one I have, I think because of the weight and underlever.  Anyway if anyone can help me that would be great.

I have no experience with that rifle so I can't answer your questions, but I have no doubt some of the other members will chime in and give you what you need.  I wouldn't think it would be to hard to obtain a spring for the gun as well as a new seal.   Give your post some time, I'm sure you'll have your answer soon

if you do a search ( top left ) on it you will have all the infor that you need. I took mine apart several months ago and did a home tune came out pretty good I think. There is sveral ways to go about gettting a new spring ( JM, Compasseco, South Summit, and Archer Airguns ) I got mine from Compasseco because it came in a kit and everyone was out. The kit has spring, seals( 2 breech and 1 leather piston ), and other spare parts.

Do you feel the compasseco spring was an upgrade, the spring in mine seems pretty long and thin guage comparied to some of my other guns I have torn apart.  Is there a synthetic seal in the kit, I heard you could drill a hole in the center of a couple pennies and dimes then put the screw through them to make a support for a syn seal.  I dont know if I would gain anything  but leather seals seem pretty old school to me.

I wish there was a synthetic seal available for my TF-97 which is similar to the fore-mentionned rifles,....but a periodic drop or two of chamber-lube will keep those leather seals in good condition!!! For parts, Compesseco and Archer are good sources, but don't count out Mike Melick either. Mike is very knowledgable with most of the Oriental made shooters! tjk

Compasseco piston seal is leather, Archer airgun web page said "that it is out of stock" but by now it my be in. The spring that I received from Compasseco seem to be about 2 tenths thicker than the OEP but was maybe 1 coil smaller. As for the penny and dime trick I did not try that because I like the leather seal in mine, but other forum members say that they like the plastic seals- you own personal taste.

I used this spring with good results.  It's about 2 inches shorter than the stock spring but being a heavier wire .120  compared to .117  it's about the same power. I didn't add any spacers, just a couple of polished washers with some moly grease on them. I didn't add any more spacers than that because I didn't want to overstress  the stock plastic spring guide, another weak link in this gun. take a file or sandpaper and round off the square edges on the end of the spring guide,and add a little grease here also. It will cock more smoothly.

A year and a half ago I bought a QB362 from some local guy on craigslist. It's .22. The guy told me he thought it shot about 900fps-- I knew that given it was .22 I shouldn't expect anywhere near that. I brought it home and ran it across the chrony-- 390fps! I shot about 10 or so pellets through it and put it away. Just a couple of days ago I opened it up and found it to be all full of crap and the leather seal was pretty shot too, from what I could see (I've never seen a leather seal before). Anyway I've been working on cleaning it up a bit and tonight made a replacement seal out of a synthetic seal from a QF-2 cleaning kit, two dimes and two pennies. I drilled a hole through the change and it looks like it will work great. It'll probably be another couple of days before I get a chance to put it back together but when I do I'll post and let you know how the seal works out.

let me know how that synthetic seal works, thats exactly what I thought about doing.  Is the spring out of that kit useable in the QB36-2 if you still have the spring out can you measure it for me.

Alas I cannot measure the spring right now as it's inside my Baikal MP-512M :-) I did notice that the spring that came in the QF-2 kit was longer than the spring in the B3's that I have, and looking now I see the spring in the QB362 is longer than the B3 spring as well.

Hi Shaft,  If your gun is less than a year old and You got it from Compasseco, just tell them what parts You need and they will send them to You,no charge. And as Kcurrie said, I also have a .22 from Compasseco and it was really weak when I first got it. I called Compasseco and they sent Me a new spring.and it was a great improvement.but after a year it broke.That's why I am using the JM spring. As for the Leather seal if it's not really torn bad. just soak it in oil for a couple of days and it will soften up and expand slightly. As for the length of the springs. the original spring that was in the gun was 14 inches. the replacement that Compasseco sent Me was 15 inches. and the JM spring is 13 inches. I don't think that spring in the QF-2 kit will be long enough.
