What??  Really?  Do they have the metal trigger or the new plastic one?

I don't see it on Pyramyd Air's website.  I spoke to Gamo last year about it and they said they had no plans of bringing this rifle back in .22 cal.  What I don't understand is, why they don't make a CFX in .20 cal.

Okay, I found the CFX in .22 cal. at Pyramyd Air, but only with the wood stock, for only $200.  Just bought it.  So, if the trigger group is the new plastic one, does anyone think it can be swapped out in its entirety to the previous metal one?  If so, where can I go get the old metal trigger group?  Think Gamo might have a few laying around, or would I have to find an old el cheapo model and swap triggers?  I'm going to have to take the rifle apart eventually anyway to install a gas ram.

http://www.airgundepot.com has the synthetic stock .22 cal. Since you have the Royal on the way, this would probably just be for future reference and for others looking at getting one. As for the trigger, I'm not sure if it's an old one or new one. My buddy got a .177 right before Christmas and it's got a black synthetic stock, not the dark greyish one that were on previous CFX. It feels cheaper. He got lucky though, he got one with the old trigger, so GRTIII was a go. Anyway, here's a link.

Alright, I ordered the synthetic stock one from AirGunDepot too.  Let's see which one's got the old trigger that can be swapped out to the GRT-III.  Then I can send back the one I don't want and put that money towards a gas ram conversion kit; get another set of Maccari Tesla seals and make this into a real beast.

Per the info on my website and in the link in the post at the top of the Gamo Gate.

Question:  Can I replace the new Gamo trigger with a Chinese Gamo/Theoben clone trigger?

Answer:  No, because the rear of the action has been also changed and the clone triggers cannot be mounted. Also, if it could be done, you would need to replace the trigger assembly, the retaining block and spring guide, the spring block.  Then you still have the problem of being able to lock down the trigger assembly.

Also, the beartrap linkage is not compatible.

Let's hope I luck out and get an older version of the CFX.  I placed an order with Pyramyd Air and another one with Air Gun Depot.

It's a WONDERFUL shooter with the GRT!!!!! Pray bro!!!!! I was in Cabela's last week and the only Gamo with the plastic trigger was the CFX in .177. It looks worse, feels worse and looks cheaper than the, at best, average metal trigger. Hope for the best!!!

I picked up my .22 CFX back when they started to produce them again, she's a deadly accurate shooter that's taken her share of Bandit's and Country Rat's. :) Ed

The .22 Cal Syn CFX at Airgundepot is a steal! Going around $170-180 I would have to think about that one :) I sure hope that my newly purchased Silent Cat doesn't have the new "unimproved" trigger assembly...I will be really sad if it did; plus I just ordered a GRT-III, so yeah haha

I got one from PA coming (the one with wood stock and no scope) and I got a synthetic stock one with scope coming from AGD.  If both of them have the metal triggers, I'm keeping both.  Charlie, get ready for me to place another order for a GRT-III trigger if this happens - I still have one trigger left from my order with you about 6 months ago.
