Barrel chop on a underlever..
« on: January 17, 2010, 05:12:04 PM »
The two kral underlevers are the only springers
I have not choped yet..Little bit more hassel than
a brake barrel but not impossable...
So the .177 got 5" whacked...13" now..
I wanted to retain the standard muzzel brake/lever lock
But after the cut it was to short to get though the spindal
bore on the lathe to turn the recess at the end for the brake
so I bored the brake...
Just waiting for the epoxy to dry so I can get a firm length
for the lever...

Nice work, looks great! How does shortening the barrel affect a springer?

good idea! and nice work, i think shortening the barrel helps accuracy but im not sure
if at first you dont succeed, re-load, kill count 2010.

Great job at chopping the barrel and cocking arm.

Accuracy could be improved due to shorter lock time (Pellet spend less time in barrel therefore less chance of human movement).....just make sure that the chopped part of the barrelis notchokedor the accuracy could suffer. Speed could be improved because less friction on the pellet from less time in the shorter barrel.

Nice job it looks great. i have a question i have the gamo cfx and might have to do a chop job to fix some issue's. this guns barrel and muzzle breaks attachment look alota alike, mine has splines with a make shift set crew. the reason for my needing it is after the muzzle break was removed and i looked down the barrel (that was intelegent)you could see the hole was drilled of center from factory causing a very wrong finish for the end of a barrel did you happen to notice any such thing. i mean the oversived hole on the end of the barrel was not drilled on the center line of the bore causing a very irregular crown if there was to be one and did your gun improve in accuracy with this.
