Got another one with the Viper
« on: April 01, 2007, 03:27:10 AM »
Man thats 6 within the past two weeks, i had hit another one will i was  getting ready for work, from 30+ yards with the RWS pointed. Hit him in the abck, heard that POP, he rustled aorund for abit, and then laid to rest.

This guy, i woke up this morning went up stairs and saw him hopping along my porch. Grab my trusty sidekick and a few pointed RWS's, and head to the garage door. I get there, THREE of them all within range from 10 ft to 30 yards. So i sneak outside, there is one in the driveway, less then 15 ft away. He is pearched up and looking right at me. I slowly make my out the door watching him.  He loses interest in me and starts searching the ground. I slowly bring the rifle up, im still in 9x from last night, his beady little eyes staring at me. Meanwhile i am going, *_*_*_*_*_* my scope is sighted in at 25 yards..... he is less then 5 yards.. I take the shot, he drops hards... left side paralyzed. Then he starts kicking and frolocking around, he spurtin alot of blood so i knew it would be long. SO i grab him after 10 secs of him kicking, and he is covered in blood and tree debris. I wash him off to see where i hit him, right behind the ear. Clean through the neck to the other side. The bullseye behind his ear is the impact.

stalked him too, missed my close up shot on him, went just over him and nicked him. However he got on the side of a tree and presented himself very well for a kill zone shot.

You should give predators a shot. With a powerfull gun like that im a lil worried there is some overpenetration with the pointed pellets.

I have used the predators and love them, but i ran out recently. I do particularly care for the tomahawks, they have not earned my trust.

Sweet!! man you're putting a serious dent in the squirrel population in your neighborhood.
Are you sure that you never lived around here?? because there are NO squirrels here at all
and shooting Grackles just doesn't provide the same sense on satisfaction ;)

So when I go shooting do I go to your place in Gainesville, or over to Frisco to see Roald?  Maybe we should all find a common spot and meet up....either way I got alot of driving to do:)  Somehow I think if we met in the middle (DFW Airport) that the Feds would flip out and send us to jail!!!  "That aint no grackle boy, that's a 767!".
