Having shot my TF 89 .22 I decided I wanted one in .177. After reading the forum I found out that there are many different names for the same gun! So I got online and looked around a bit and found one WITH a 4x scope for only $88. Since that was almost half of what my 89 cost, I was rather pleased. Instead of a TF 89, I got a:
Hammerli Titan Air Rifle COMBO .177 cal., with 4x32 Scope, mounts, adjustable sights & muzzlebrake. Rated at 1000 fps, Genuine Hardwood Stock, Auto Safety, Rubber Recoil Pad. Made in China under license, imported and warranted by Umare xUSA!
It came double boxed and without a scratch on it. I decided to fire it just to see if it worked and it scared me! The crack was SO loud. Knowing better, I cleaned the barrel until it was spotless. THEN I loaded it again and started shooting some CPHPs. I was shocked when it was nearly dead on. In a couple of minutes I was plinking cans out to 35 yards with the open sights.
It came with a little 4x scope. Since I had another scope on the way from OpticsPlanet, I put the 4x on my old Daisy pump gun.
There are some small differences between the Titan and the TF 89. The TF 89 has a little nicer stock. It also has better open sights, but the ones on this gun aren't horrible. The trigger is the same except the Titan's trigger is black instead of silver. Though the scope isn't all that good it wasn't too bad either. My wifey paid about $135 for the 89 without a scope. Getting a deal for only $88 was fantastic. I just checked their website and they've sold out. I must have gotten the last one.
