got a Katana yesterday
« on: January 22, 2010, 05:07:43 AM »
I have been reading all the posts about the Katana. This is my first post. I got the gun from PA with the 10% discount, also got a 6-24x50 leapers scope, pump and pellets. So far the gun is more accurate than I am. The gun seems to like the crosman cp domes.I have alot of other pellets to try. Thankyou for all the information on this site. With out the input from this site I would have never figured out what I wanted in a airgun.

Welcome Michael
Congratulations on the new Katana.  Mine is shooting Crosman Premiers(brown box),Beeman Kodiak extra heavies and Beeman Field Target Specials really well.  Just yesterday I mounted a TKO brake on it.  All I can say is wow.  I love shooting it and  have a hard time putting it down.  Enjoy that new shooter.

Thankyou all for the input. Does the TKO Muzzle quiet down the report. I would like to make the gun a little more quiet. All things considererd I think this is alot of gun for the money. My other gun is a RWS 34 panther the groupings with the RWS are not near as tight and seem to change from day to day. thanks  Michael

Get the TKO muzzle brake Michael.  Highly recommended.  It makes the Katana that much more user friendly.  Well worth the 44.00 price.

I am a paper shooter. But I do have my eye on a few fussy tailed rodents that are eating my wife's metal bird feeder. Michael  PS Will send pic's soon.

Awesome! I just bought a Discovery and now Im beginning to eye the marauder. Id really recommend the 6.5 inch TKO brake. I found everyone's claims about how quiet they were  hard to believe at first. After installing one its amazing how quiet it is. No one will know you're shooting until they hear the "thwack!" on your target. Seriously, its worth every cent.

Anyway, welcome aboard. Unfortunately from here on its all downhill, you'll see....
so far:
Benjamin Marauder .22 w/ Leapers 3-9x50
Benjamin Discovery .22 w/ Leapers 3-9x32
RWS 48 .22 w/Leapers 3-9x32 AO
RWS 34P .22 w/ BSA 2-7x32 AO
Xisico B28 .22 w/ Leapers 3-9x50 AO --> sold
Gamo CFX .177 w/ Barska 3-12x40 AO

Welcome to the GTA; Congrats on the Kat . I have MDR and Disco Would like a Kat but can't have that hideous trigger guard. Can't buy MDR Trigger guard without stock. so no Kat yet. Maby get MDR stock to put on Kat. Will be best of both worlds.Will call Crosman to see how much MDR stock is delivered. Kat is $399 + stock maby $400 total. Not too bad, Chocked Barrel,Nice trigger and guard. Now I need open sights! for Kat LOL   Franky
