1st attempt at a stock
« on: April 02, 2007, 01:21:15 AM »
I wanted a thumbhole stock for my S1k, so I made this for practice and to have a pattern. Then after I saw how it was going to turn out I thought maybe just use this one. When I was working on it one of my neighbors came over, said he wanted to see what I was doing and offered me a piece of mahogany and cypress to work on. So this one will find a home on a B-3 that has a bad stock, after I use it on the S1k. I wish that I had the proper tools to work with, but it didn't turn out too bad for a 2x6 made off of the tailgate of my truck. All I had to use was a small router,2 chisels and a belt sander. It still needs a light sanding , another coat of stain and some poly. But I think it turned out ok for a 2x6.hehe

That sure looks pritty Mike !

How long did it take you to pick that board out of Lowes ?  3 or 4 pallets ?

Real nice grain, and a center cut too!

You have the touch Mike !
