I sometimes visit the various air gun blogs and reviews but, lately, been kind of coming away disappointed. Either they are a bit limited in testing a gun (i.e. - one or two five shot strings with one or two pellets) or they read/sound like infomercials. For all of the "expertise", I think that the private reviews posted here and elsewhere stack up better. So, what's your take? These getting to be more and more commercial?

The humanity/civility of the GTA group is so good, anything less is going to seem pretty mechanical/commercial by comparison.

Exactly Red,

When you receive a review from anyone connected with the sales of these air guns or products related to them, how can you expect to read anything but what the manufacturer has advertised. Money, money, MONEY ! That's what runs the world !

The best reviews in the world are from people like you and me, reporting our happinessor sadness-es ona productwe have spent our hard earned money on. It it as advertised, or is it all show and no go !

I love it when you find a review with emotion in it, it says it all !!!!

We have several great members here that write a great review ! I go to them, when at all possible !

Many of the reviewers and bloggers get support from big retailers. They send them the rifles and pellets to test. Kinda hard to bite the hand that feeds you so to speak. I have read or seen video where a reviewer will say something less than positive about a certain aspect of a rifle/pistol, but that seems a rarity. The worst are the British airgun magazines. I quit buying them partially for that reason, plus the cost was just too high. Not every rifle/pistol deserves a 5 star rating.

When I first got into guns, I would soak up the latest Guns & Ammo, Shooting Times, etc. Then I noticed that the reviewers never met a gun they didn't like, to borrow from Will Rodgers. Some guns were even trashed in the same mag a couple of years later. Got to where the only two gun magazines I subscribed to were Rifle and Handloader. They tended to call a spade a spade and the articles were always insightful and entertaining. Think those are still pretty good rags.

I've noticed that a lot of the retailer reviews and videos are like infomercials. They force all the features down your throat like you've never heard of them before and you can't  live without them.  The best reviews are usually done by the consumers who have a more realistic objective view towards the products.

I trust what people have to say about AGs at the GTA.   I believe these folks are more real world and shoot AGs daily.    And they don't need the latest and greatest geehaw outthere.

Some reviews scattered around the net seem questionable regarding being impartial and reporting honestly.
