Short answer,  IMO...yes.   Upgrade.   Seems like a good choice.

If you're looking to upgrade to a magnum .22 springer for hunting reasons than the TF-89 is certainly a good pick for a hunting rifle.  Extremely hard hitting hunting rifles and very accurate as well right out of the box if you get a good one.  I think the scope is a good choice as well... I have quite a few of those scopes and they've all performed well for me, even on magnum springers...

I'm with you fellers! :D

I shot my TF 89 about 200 pellets today.  I did my best on a home lubrication and it seems to be okay.  Not nearly as nice as the one tuned gun I own, but it is a lot less gritty than it was before.  One thing I didn't anticipate is I think it is shooting harder!  It isn't quite what my 350 is nor as smooth, but it does hit a ton and is accurate!  Now to get the courage to take apart my Titan.......

The TF 89 will be a harder hitter than a Gamo Big Cat. I know.....I've a Hammerli Titan (Similar to the Tech Force 89) and a Gamo Big Cat. Although both in .177 caliber. If you get the Big Cat....you might end up with the "newer" version....so the GRT III trigger might not work in it.

Differences between the TF 89 (Titan) and Big Cat;

TF 89 will be alot heaver than the BC.

TF's cocking would be harder than the BC.

Original Titan trigger is still gritty but adjustable to a short pull. OriginalBC trigger have a long heavy pull.

Gamo: Expotec .177 + Big Cat .177 + Viper .177 + Whisper .177, Hammerli Titan .177, Diana model 24 .177, RWS-Diana P5 Magnum pistol .177, Crosman: G1 Extreme .177 + Storm XT .177 + Sierra Pro .177 + 1377 pistol .177, Air Arms S410SL .22, BSA Scorpion T10 .22, FX Cyclone .177, Remington Air Master 77 .177 + BB\'s,

I'd still go for the TF 89 if you want a hunting gun.

sounds good. i was just looking for a definitive answer. i know with a good scope and trigger the big cat can be a tack driver. i just didnt know much about the tf89 besides that it was powerful.
