Scope suggestions for TF89
« on: February 04, 2010, 06:22:45 AM »
Any suggestions on what kind of scope and rings should i get for my tf89. I am shooting iron sights now and can get by with greats groupings out to 35 yards but i would love to expand that distance with a scope. Help Please!!!!!

Wow,I envy you being able to get a descent group with irons @ 35 yards. My old eyes can't do that.

On my TF89, I'm using a one piece mount similar to this [/b][/i] and a Bushnell Sportsman 4-12x40 AO scope. I like it and it's very accurate. That combo should get you out there. I got my scope at Wally World where they also generally carry CenterPoint 4-16X40 AO IR scopes for the same price as the Bushnell. I had one CenterPoint that would not hold zero soI swapped it for the Bushnell. But,I have the same CenterPoint scope on my Benjamin Super Streak that is dead on after over 500 rounds. So either of these scopes with that one piece mount should do the trick for you.

Happy Shooting!!!!

I would suggest getting a scope that is springer rated. Hawke scopes are (I happen to sell them). But note the different models in my signature. I have had trouble with inexpensive scope lines that claim to be springer-friendly, like Centerpoint, Leapers, and BSA. I like the Bushnell scopes I have for less expensive alternatives -- or the Hawkes. More expensive options include the Leupold EFR Ultralight, Swift 686, Sightrons entire line...

One other thing... AO. If you are like me and shoot at short and/or varying distances, the fixed parallax scopes generally won't do it for you.

I hope that helps!

With the Titan springer you want a good one piece mount and like Richard said, a good spring rated scope. It is that simple...:)

I have a Leapers 4x32 mil-dot scope on mine with an Accushot 1-piece mount and it's great.  Hasn't moved and has good optics.  I just bought another Leapers scope, the 3x9 Bug Buster, for my new rifle and like it.  I shoot at 4x in the field but on 9x when target shooting.
