Tuning Springers
« on: February 05, 2010, 09:05:11 AM »

Hey everyone, I guess you have noticed that I have not been on much lately,, :) Well it is mostly because I have been up to my ears in tune jobs. Not to mention my computer crashing and that sure was a mess as well. Also have had the case of some kind of creeping crud off and on for over a month now as well..

Ever since I took over Bob's tuning business it has gradually gotten busier and busier until now I have tunes scheduled out to the end of April now.. I am just as methodical about tuning as Bob was but I work slower..:) I am writing this in the Back Room here to let everyone know that I can only do so much a week. Have not been able to shoot or enjoy any plinking since Timmy's fun shoot last fall.

So I am not excepting any further tunes until after May 2010. With exception of those clients that i have done tunes for in the last two years. I will start taking in more work after May again. BUt until then I am filled up with tunes.

Also I have stoppee all cutom muzzle brakes and shroud work.

I miss being on the GTA and missplaying with my own guns but I need to slow it down a bit. Hope everyone can understand.

Gene

Glad you're "busy & back" - nice to have so much work, a LOT better than hoping some will show up. - Suggestion, not sure if it's possible there, but you might consider "farming out" the brake work to a local machine shop, and tack a few bucks on for yourself, - kind of a "handling charge". Beats turning customers away, and keeps work in the neighborhood. - Spring isn't all that far away, - should help clear up that bug, - best of luck.

Well, good, I guess that you are busy...so long as it is worth your effort. One thing I found I had to do with my own business -- and I hope no one hates me, but it is true -- I raised my prices. Those who still wanted my services paid the premium, and some went elsewhere. But in the end I was still as busy, and just made more. You and your tunes are worth it!

Glad to hear from you Gene. We were all worried and wondering. Hey, if you have another computer crash, hopefully you still have my phone number. I'll help you out any way I can. I can build you a virtually bulletproof pooter if you need one.

Break times over, not I gotta get back to it.

Man, I was just wondering how you've been, glad you're slowing down for a little while....even I need to do that sometimes.  I've been meaning to give you a call to chew the fat, it's been awhile.  Maybe what you need is a trip to Texas for a fun shoot?!?!?!?!?!
