Hello Portland Ore.
« on: February 05, 2010, 12:13:32 PM »
I got into Portland this week from Nortth Carolina.I havent shot any guns yet but have unpacked a couple.Do any of you guys shoot around Portland? In North Carolina I shot outside my house all the time and only had police called once lol. Here i feel it might be a little frowned upon.I bought a 22 rimfire trap just to be on the safe side.So shooting will start very soon because the great thing about our thing is we only need   30 to 100 feet to get going.I have to fly back to NC tuesday for one more load not looking forward to the drive  but what do you do.Anyway any urban area shooting tips will be appreciated.

Rimfire at 30 ft.??? - You're in "lefty country" and even thinking about shooting is strongly discouraged. - If you're inside the Portland "city limits" there's a good chance it's against the law, - might be worth a call to find out.

Im not shooting rimfire here i bought a 22 rimfire trap to shoot pellets in for extra safety.I did it today and it worked great shot my 54 and my R1 both hit the same poi here so altitude and air pressure must be similar.

That's one heck of a drive Tony. Man, be careful with this crazy weather across the country.

The .22 trap is a great idea, you could even put some duct seal into it to quiet the "ping" of the pellets hitting the back of the trap.

Good luck, and be safe on your moving adventure. snookman
