I think most of the PCP's especially the higher priced ones would be able to reach out and hit a target at 100 yards. Heck, my cheapy .177 Gamo Big Cat hit a soft drink can once!!! heh heh To seriously consistantly get good groups I would think heavy uniform pellets are a must at those ranges..... .22 or .25 in the 25 to 35gr. range would do to avoid drift.
Now, for hunting that's a whole different story....you'll need the pellet to be able to retain the energy at those distances. Although the Air Arms, BSA, FX, Marauder, Discovery, Blizzard etc....all in the 28 to 34FPE range will be ok with paper punching, but probably not strong enough for hunting. You'll need a Talon, Condor or one of those Korean Careers or Sumatras that can be adjusted to 45 to 50+ FPE to take out a critter cleanly at those distances.
