Been snowing since yesterday morning here in the Washington, DC area. We rarely get snows like this. (I think the last this big was about 1922.) Was reading Charlie's comment on the Nitro when the power went out. Yes, it took THAT to get me off the forums last night, LOL. Still waiting for the power to return. I am posting through sheer will power. Let the dog out to pee and she had to do it standing up as the snow is shoulder-high for her. Honestly, we are about 20" and counting. So, if any of you fellow air gunners are in the area, take it easy and play it safe. Stay inside and polish your safe queens or re-read Cardew's Trigger to Target. And, for those in the lower areas of the storm, careful of the ice. We'll all be out shooting in no time. ('Cept me 'cause it ain't legal in these parts.) Now I have to start shoveling/snow blowing. And my big strong son slipped in the bathroom Thursday night and broke a rib, so it's the OLD MAN, yet again. And, for any with Super Bowl tickets, sitting in the closed airports, my heart goes out to you.
Catch you later!
PS - No comments from the Peanut Gallery about how little the accumulations are. It's not the amount of snow but the lack of equipment that gets you. Maintaining a fleet of huge snow plows/blowers doesn't make sense this far south. And then there are the folks who just can't figure out how to drive in it. If you think 20" of snow paralyzing a town is silly, my buddy in New Orleans stays inside and pulls the curtains when they get the rare quarter-inch.
