SUMATRA 1st day - 1st group
« on: February 07, 2010, 01:02:29 AM »
LAST FRIDAY was my first day with the powerful SUMATRA .22 AND eun jin 28.4g ammo.

The very out shots were realized with 21.4g HN... no good for long distance.

Yesteday  SATURDAY

I went to the range again and set an .22 spinner at a distance of 75 yards located between the 2 paper targets, shown in the photos.
I used 32.4g - Heavy.

The first 3 shots at high power after every refill, I always hit 100% in the center and  spinned the target - PERFECTLY.

All shots realized after the 3rd one started to fall quickly at 75 yards and for hitting the spinner I had to compesate the shot elevating the rifle

more and more after every shot for a 225 feet distance and heavy pellets.  I will experiment shoter distances.

In this range.......... I have not tested the Marauder, I am waiting for a 3rd Centerpoint 8-32x56mm scope to set It an compare

the MARAUDER shots consistency at long distance.

Conclusion

The SUMATRA is a powerful and very accurate air rifle with heavy pellets at constant pressure air supply.

This is my observation about the Sumatra after 2 days of use it.

The Marauder will group dime size @ 70 meters, I have done it with wind too boot! Might want to put some better glass on your Marauder though!

I plan on going to a 200 yard range to see what the gun can really do.

I don't expect anything spectacular but It'll be fun knocking down cans and bottles.

HI I was using by first time the SHOOTING RANGE and the SUMATRA.  The Marauder will take it journey to the range.

I am just waiting it replacement scope a 8-32x56mm, when I get that I will try the maximum space available 100 yards...

to see how the MARAUDER performs at that distance.

I will post as soon I get the scope.

iN ADDITION:  I AM SEARCHING FOR A LONGER SPACE AVAILABLE .... BUT IT IS NOT EASY.  I DO NOT KNOW NOBODY WITH A FARM.

I LIVE IN THE CITY.

ahhh.... and Welcome to GTA.

Hi Gerald,
The group might not have been as tight as some, but it looks like you had beautiful weather and a beautiful place to shoot. Good going!
