Kel-tec Sb 2000 folding carbine rifle
« on: February 07, 2010, 02:40:19 AM »
I'm set to buy one of these, it seems like a no brainer for a Glock 19 owner with 5 mags and a good stash of 9mm.

These sell for $300 plus or minus, and seem like a true bargain. The 12" barrel gives the pistol round a lot more velocity. It holds a pretty flat trajectory out to 100 yards, and has good power out to 150 yards.

This one folds to allow it, several mags, and boxes of ammo in a laptop case.

Much easier to shoot accurately than a pistol. I saw these in .40 S&W at the gun show, and they look great for the price.

Anyone have one?

Unique.  Usually you see the stock folded over or to the side to make it compact.

I found one for $325 plus shipping. The 9 mm is apparently a lot more scarce than the .40 cal, but I have five Glock magazines for 9mm, and I want to standardize. I now have the Glock 19, the Kel-tec PF-9, and will soon have the Sub 2000. The reviews are pretty favorable, and it seems like a lot of firepower for the money. So bring on the zombies.

I'll report back when I have the chance to shoot it.

I've seen the Kel-tec carbines and wouldn't mind having one. I'd probably go 40 S&W though. Local stores seem to have 40 S&W most of the time. Ain't seen any 9mm in a LOOOOOOONNNNNNNGGGGGG time.

Jerry,

Your making a good choice. They shoot good, light weight, fit great in a back pack. I don't remember the glock 19 mags fitting it though. I believe it will only take 17 mags but, I haven't seen one for quite some time. The barrel is 16". I have sold the hell out of them and right now 325 is a good price. If you do get one pic up some 32 round 9mm mags and your all set. The ones I have sold come with one 10 round Glock 17 mag. Good luck.

Thanks, Jason.

I have two 15 round G19 magazines, two 17 round G17's, and one 33 round. I think Kel-Tec sells a "Glock 19" variant, but they simply shorten the grip for a shorter magazine. The one I ordered is a G17 variant.
So I do have three magazines that will supplement the one that comes with the rifle.

Got the rifle from a dealer in MN for $325 plus $15 shipping, which seems pretty low compared to Gunbroker et al. For some reason, the .40 cal variant is far more available, and the 9mm variants are being offered for a premium as much as $100.

Glad to hear you like the way it shoots. Most reviews give this gun a thumbs up. I hope all I ever do with it is plink and shoot at the range, but if necessary, it seems like a good supplement to the JCup armory, and uses the same 9 mm as my pistols. With a 12 gage backup, I'm ready for zombies.

Thanks, will check this out. I'm going to haunt the Walmarts locally for 9mm. They had Federal "Champion" 115 gr FMJ for $9.47 a box (50) and Remington UMC 115 gr JHP for $24 per box of 100. Have not seen any better online prices. Maybe the big shortage is easing. I'm ready for another thousand rounds of that JHP.
