Beyond Expectations???
« on: February 07, 2010, 02:00:38 PM »
Everybody is well aware of the success of the GRT-III trigger and I want to thank all that have both bought and supported it over the years. I say and I did’t mean to give anybody a false impression but it seems as though many are expecting another chunk of gold.

Sorry all....Not to be ...  :0

A lot of people over the last few months have asked me to come up with a replacement for the NPSS trigger, something that would work as good or better and not be as expensive as some other after market replacements that are out there. So I looked at it on and off for several weeks and decided to play with the concept.  :)

It didn’t take me long to determine that to machine a whole new design would not be economically realistic based on the available market and volume of expected sales.  :0Those costs are the reason that the gun manufactures are making them out of cast iron or Poly rather than a machined blade adjustable.

Because of the geometrical design, it would cost a couple thousand dollars just to get started to set up put a program, design and make jigs and set up tooling for CNC manufacturing. It is a big expensive project. Being that it would work only in a limited number of guns with a limited number of product demand and sales results, I can't invest that kind of money as I'm sure you can understand. So that is out of the question for the foreseeable future.

But…. after doing some research it was determined that a trigger modification was feasible and could be done with excellent results using the basic Polymer trigger and at a delivered cost far less than what is out there now and it will work not only every bit as well but better, and that's what matters.  :) That’s what I started working on. Cheaper and better.

Just to let everyone know, the new trigger would be made of Polymer (The trigger is not plastic). The trigger blade is a space age Polymer composite trigger with a hardened steel reinforced pivot point to eliminate any concerns regarding wear as is with some of the factory models. The trigger blade also has a serrated finger pad for better trigger pull control and is a two point adjustment trigger. It will be far superior to the factory trigger having less and adjustable first stage pull length as well as an adjustable second stage let off pull length and lighter pull weight.  :)  I think you will be impressed in most cases.    :D

Finally, I'd like to say two things; .. First..I'm  sorry if it disappoints you... and second... if it didn't work and wasn't worth it, I wouldn't market it.

Also… I’m only going to make 100 of the replacement triggers initially to see how the market reacts to them before investing and making more. A lot will be determined by what the Trail NP looks like also. Depending what it is, either the new NPSS trigger or the GRT-III should work in it. That’s to be determined.

Bob, if this new trigger is half as good as your GRT III, I am sure it will be a great success. Thank you for your hard work and integrity, I think everyone here at the GTA has the same opinion. snookman

Thanks Bob for taking the time to examine the NPSS's trigger system...and finding out if you can modify it/make a new one to make it better.  Maybe in the future if all of the Crosmans and Gamos triggers are like the NPSS's....then it would be worthwhile to slap down some big bucks to creat a whole new trigger.

It takes a big man to let others know what he is doing.  You are not obligated to tell  or explain  anything to us   but you did.   Your honesty is refreshing.

People who do business like you are far and few between.   On that alone, I will continue to purchase any products you produce.

Being a Diana owner, I can say that I am not one of the Metal Trigger Nazis. My 54 trigger is Space Age Plastic and going strong since 1998. My Norica 80G (new-old-stock from the 80's/90's) is also plastic and just fine. They will outlast me and the next air gun addict that gives them a home. Seeing that the Nitro/Remington is a goodly part plastic/polymer in the first place, a synthetic trigger will fit right in. And, when it's about fifteen out and you bare skin is sticking on the gate latch, you'll appreciate it.

Please, no apologies for a better trigger with a FULL WARRANTY. It may not be gold, but I'm sure it will be golden. :D

Bob, Thanks for sharing this inside info with your GTA family you are a talented gentleman that's for sure:) As far as I am concerned if you make a trigger gold or not then its worth buying the gun to go with it:) You know I am a Diana fan and have no problem with "non metal triggers" . I wish you great success with this one, Tony.
