GTA Hunters to Japan?
« on: February 09, 2010, 06:27:20 AM »
My best friend Sean was a Mormon missionary to Japan for a couple of years.  I was telling him about raccoon hunting and he told me that Japan was overrun with them!  Not wanting to doubt him, but I decided to do some research:

They need to kill thousands of them!  I propose an airlift to Japan of the 1st GTA Hunters Air Gun Division!  I'm sure we can get rid of a few thousand!

I'll take time off work for this....for as long as they want.  And if they amend their laws....I think the GTA airgun hunters will take out a few of the Crows too.

Believe it or not it is perfectly fine to hunt and own sporting guns in Japan!  I checked it out.  Only handguns are not allowed.  Not sure about the air gun scene in Japan, but you would think they are legal if you can own a .22 or a shotgun.

Trust me when I say that it's not only handguns that aren't allowed.  In order to get a rifle, you have to own a shotgun for 10 years without incident.  I promise I would have an airgun and be dropping crows if I could.  atchman, interested to know where your research was done.  Only loophole I know of is the if you have a farm loophole.

That's true...I believe I saw some videos on YouTube where Japanese airgunners were hunting ducks andpheasants etc. legally. Only they're not allowed to shoot their airguns in city limits I guess....just like here and in the U.S.

Yes, the Japanese officials  are very strict on all types of firearms, including Air Guns.     Only the police and the criminals have guns of any type.

The proposal to go to Japan to rid them of pests was   strictly in jest.    Japan can rest easy,  the American Air Gun invasion will not happen.    I just wish they would produce Air Guns for export.... they have made some very high quality firearms .     I just came across a Pigeon Grade Winchester O/U shotgun made in Japan.  Very fine,  lots of engraving.  Locks up very tight.

I read it somewhere from some guys hunting on an air base.  A shotgun would work for coons :)

It was on Crowbusters!

I saw it on the crowbusters website, but you have to remember that the military can usually get the easy way around.
