NO, too very lite Rifleing in XSB-AK47 ??
« on: February 10, 2010, 06:24:45 AM »

Well after a home tune on my XSB-ak47, I cleaned the Barrel ! & was looking for Rifling in the Barrel & could not see any?? But using a flash lite I can see a very

lite markings ?

& some post have called it a smooth bore Air gun?

Anyway was wondering if that had something to do with my shot gun pattern, that I get with any pellet(Gamo, crosman,TF,Daisy,Benj, Dome, matich, two hunters,.

was Thanking about a B-3 or QB-3 archer air, in 117! . any in put ? My (?) is are the TF's worth the extra 30+ Bucks

My TF97 has very fine Rifling,

is there a QB-3 with no ckeckering stock a better gun? or the TF97 a better one?

rontier hi how r u doing ? well im still in the hospital and all my tubes r out so im getting better. anyway i spoke about having a tf97 .22 that i had bought and to tell u the truth i love the accuratecy on it and its pretty powerful to take out small game at 15 yds cause its a .22 and accurate but its diesling since i have had it maybe cause it still needs to settle in from the lube job he did or what is it cause smoke comes out of it i leave it on the floor with the butt plate on the floor and its well kept but its not disapearing ,one thing for sure its shooting very good and its accurate ,no problem with the trigger but it got stuck twice while cocking it sideway and i made sure it clicked cause i had sidelevers that this has happened to also so i know thats not a problem but im trying to exclude that out the picture .im keepin it cause it will do me good pluse its a good a.g. and the person who sold it to me is a great person and will help me if i needed it but i want to take care of him soon cause he is a wonderful person.do these things happen and do they last cause i really never had this problem my son that the b25 is doing the same thing but i told him thats normal when anyhing is new as far a a lube job is done anyone wants to chime in do so please ...jorge

Yup- I went through 2 & got a good one! & what are you in the hosp' for ? I did not know? hope your OK!
went thruogh that-as I found out the hard way ? . The stock Holds all the pins in place! . & when you take the stock off they will fall out!
So how I fixed my B-3 & TF97, was to take her down, not turning it on it's side!! Hold it upright & put -
E-6000 Glue on every pin, you can get this very strong Rubber Glue at walmart, Hobby stores. it will hold very strong & can be removed for dissabiling,It will not get hard & crack off.As far as what the problem is ,On the bear trap ,it rape's around the trigger group & is held by 1 pin! when my grandson cocked it one side of the pin sled out of the bear trap /Becouse my bear trap was not fitted good from the factory!!
On the B-3 the E-6000 hold's in the main pin to the gun spring. :)  good stuff..

Hope this helps
Ron

Sounds like a good candidate for a barrel sleeving/lining job, using a Crosman 2100 barrel liner and some good epoxy.

WOW small world!!
I got dumped out of an 18 wheeler on a fork- lift, about 7 years this Summer.. I got my disability, Broke everything on me Exect 1 knee!
was in for 31 day's, got out & in a week I had a stroke. My job fired me after 12 weeks!!
it took 7 weeks to get any help! If not for our Church we would be homeless & broke.
We have our house still, & I fix Bicycles for extra $$. I can do that from my chair,
I made a rig to shoot from the side arm on my chair, & does ok ! I have 1 good arm that sucks. (But God is Good every day) .
That keeps me going ! & the family here..

You can do that??
How does it work? in a 117 cal,
I did some work on my set up and found a sweet spot ??
I guess I had a bad day last week, when I posted the B3 not shooting good
it's (me) I just can't see good any at 15yrds
or 20yrds , & coming in all discustued, so my wife said why not try from 15-18 ft??. where
you shoot the TF97 from with open sights?
& I found a New Air Gun in the B3
shot some gamo Match, & Daisy Match, at 15ft- & was very suprised, & it is hold synitive!

just call me back up Ron!!

Since the XS B-3 has a solid barrel (unlike the Crosman 2100), it would require drilling the barrel out for a liner.  That's a tough job.  It might be a good idea to just shoot the gun for a bit and see if the accuracy is acceptable.  Make sure the crown is good first.  Re-barreling on this gun would probably be best left to the pros and may not be cost effective considering the initial purchase price of the entire gun.  That would only make sense to me if you were really tied to that particular gun.

Just my two cents.

Mike

it's good to get her out side??

Some days are good but the Army men took a big hit today!!
It got up to 65f. so I made up some mini army-
guy's & set the field up at 10ft ! ? well after 2 shots the mini soldiers just went into 5-6 peaces!! so I moved them out to 15ft & they are only 2 1/2 high, But still blasted to bit's!

So I moved they all the way back to my back stop at 15yrds & the 4x32 could hard to find them, But the B3-AK47 did find them & I had a hard time finding parts out of 7 mini Soldiers. really just wanted to knock them over!  :o

Yes, drilling would definitely be necessary, just like when lining a .22 rimfire barrel. Not too hard to copy a barrel liner drill bit if you have a lathe(I have 2). Since they tend to be made of mild steel, like most rimfire barrels, it shouldn't be any harder to drill than a rimfire. Chambering isn't necessary on an airgun, so that cuts out 1 step.
I've been thinking about getting some drill rod when I get some more money and making some piloted deep-hole bits.
It won't be anywhere near as hard as drilling/reaming a pitted .50 cal muzzle loader barrel to 20 gauge. I'm going to have loads of fun with that.

Ahhh,  you are a lucky man with TWO lathes!  Sounds like you have fun with them, too.   I agree, the steel should be soft and relatively easily drilled with the right set-up (or a less-right set-up and a lot of ingenuity).
