Anyone having internet trouble?
« on: February 10, 2010, 08:22:49 AM »
Seems like Fun Supply's sites are taking forever/never to load. One link I saved this morning now comes up in index form, no pictures. A couple of Auction Arms listings would not load the pictures. Either my connection (FIOS hi speed) is overloaded with snow-bound users or other parts of the 'net are under-performing.

Hey Red,

I have FIOS also, and lost my DSL, Telephone and T.V. for two days, due to the outside box going bad.

The repairman said this is happening all over, and that they don't know what's causing them to fail ?

I was back on 5 minutes after he arrived ! He just checked the box and replaced it with a new and improved version.

Now everything works better, even the T.V. is brighter, and the Internet runs faster !!!!

Your's may be going !

We lost power for about eight hours. After five or six, I noticed that the phone was dead. I thought the backup battery was supposed to be good for at least seven or eight, if only used for 911 calls, etc. We hadn't touched ours. I'm going to ask about it after everything melts.

BTW, you are lucky. There was a woman on TV who was told that her FIOS phone could not be restored until March 5th. Of course, after she told the reporter........

I haven't lost any power during the storm but my internet has been running a bit slower than it normally does.

I noticed everytime we had a school closing, for snow or holidays, the internet slows way down. The kids are home sitting at the computers.

Called my internet company and they said the amount of internet use goes way up on  day schools are closed.
