Thinking about PCP!
« on: February 10, 2010, 12:41:54 PM »
I currently am shooting a 22 cal springer and am thinking about the "Dark Side". I am looking for accuracy foremost, hopefully out to 60 yards or greater. I do like the 22 cal for knockdown power and do want a gun that is quiet enough to still shoot in my back yard. I would like to shoot around 850 fps or greater with the 22 cal as I am a hunter, but also like to punch holes in paper. I have been thinking about the Marauder but don't know enough about the others on the market to make a sound call at this time. I would like some input from the "Dark Side".

Thanks, Wade

Sounds like you're describing the Marauder word for word with that list of requirements (or wishes). It looks like a .22 Marauder is right up your alley...I was able to get all those with a stock one right out of the box and Im sure most everyone else is too. Good luck!
so far:
Benjamin Marauder .22 w/ Leapers 3-9x50
Benjamin Discovery .22 w/ Leapers 3-9x32
RWS 48 .22 w/Leapers 3-9x32 AO

Xisico B28 .22 w/ Leapers 3-9x50 AO --> sold
Gamo CFX .177 w/ Barska 3-12x40 AO

Marauder is an excellent rifle for what you are looking for..

My next PCP on the way is a Air Force Condor .22 24" hehe.. it'll need a shroud for sure due to the sound levels created..

As a hunter the Marauder is nice but not quite the rifle the Evanix Blizzard is. Quiet, much nicer stock and finish and more power which means those 60 yard+ shots have a better chance of putting the game on the ground first shot.

I second that on the evanix, I've been working on my 100 yd shots. I'm consistent enough to hit soda cans. But my grouping isin't very tight.
