Squirrel Showdown
« on: February 16, 2010, 12:56:29 PM »
Well I had the day off so I decided to head up to the local mountains to see what sort of squirrel activity there was. I showed up on site about 11am and the squirrels were just everywhere! Squirrel count for the day was 12 confirmed with 3 that got into their bunkers before I could double tap them. Most of the squirrels were taken with my new Mac 1 2240 with the red dot I'm starting to really like this gun. A few of the other kills were taken with the 850. The highlight of the day was I spotted a squirrel about 35 yards out with just the head exposed. I chose the 850 for that mission took aim on the squirrels head and took the shot. Missed! the shot landed about 2 inches to the left and the squirrel stood still. I took aim again and put the mil dot crosshairs on the squirrels eye and fired and he dropped like a rock! All in all it was a great day in the local mountains and relaxing thinning the squirrel herd. Pic #7 is the head shot pic with the 850.

Good shooting and great pics....  You had a very successful day in the field  :)

Sure wish I had ground squirrels here to shoot at.....  they only live in one place near me..... the Bronx Zoo  :)

Their crafty lil buggers. They fun to hunt. You have to use stealth mode to get close enough to hit them with air guns.
