Padded Travel Case
« on: February 18, 2010, 09:06:28 AM »

Okay, another off the AG topic post.

Just bought a 37" LCD TV/DVD we will be using at trade shows. We had our shop guys build a nice pedestal for it that's collapsible and portable. Now I need a padded case of some type to protect the screen while in transit or storage. The TV measures about 36" across and about 26" or so tall and probably 8" or so deep. I can get the actual measurments when needed.

What I needis any suggestions for is a supplier that may have a padded soft case or even a reasonably priced hard case that this thing will fit into. Thanks ahead of time for any suggestions.

These guys make great cases. I have their archery, and a double scoped rifle case, for hardware you are serious about protecting. I see they make LCD cases, too. Dunno about pricing but I give their products very high marks.

Thanks Dave for jogging my memory. I'm familiar with SKB cases, used them several years ago for radio broadcast remote equipment transporting. Checked their site and looked at the LCD screen boxes, kewl. Price for the up to 37" is $434. Very reasonable for a good protective case but not sure the boss wants to spend that much. I told him we could break down a wooden skid, build a box and line it with foam. He kinda turned his nose up at that too. So, I'll leave it to him to decide. After he ponders it a bit he will probably decide with me that the SKB would be the BEST investment if he wants the LCD to last more than 1 year.

We could use a padded soft case too, if anybody knows of any. Even thought about a double size sleeping bag. That's the redneck soution. HeeHee

Thanks again!!!!
