S1K Re-Spring and Lube
« on: April 08, 2007, 08:22:17 AM »
Finally got the Shadow back together this morning with a good spring and a lube. Only fired 1 shot before Easter lunch and it was only 1/2" off  from POA off a rest at 30 yards. Will blast away this afternoon and post some target pics  if it shoots OK! Had only loosened the scope rails to remove it; put it back on and retightened. Only had to adj 2 clicks each way!

Happy Easter!

Ric G

I didn't get an Easter basket today; maybe Ed got to the e-bunny before he made it to my house. LOL

Shot about 30  CPL's to warm up with. Boy, have I forgotten the "feel" after 7 weeks of no shooting. Switched to Daystate FT's and shot the group to the right of the QUARTER( taped it to the target after shooting to measure group size. Filled the trap with 2" of cardboard to quiet it down, voila', no noise. Here's a pic of my 30 yard outdoor "range".  Field targets at 18 yards(squirrel 3/4" KZ), 25 yards (pigeon 15/16" KZ) and 30 yards (tan bunny 1-3/8"KZ, just to right of trap). Can shoot up to 50 yards if I go across the back yard, but it's nice to shoot from the shade of the patio. Can shoot at night as the yard is lit, too. Now just have to remember how to shoot again .

Hay Ric,

I'm glad to hear that the kids are well !

That's a real nice shootin range you have there, and who put up that beautiful block wall ? lol

I would like to have a wall like that around my backyard. I have nice neighbors, but must allways be mindful of who's out and where, I take great care not to cause a problem let alone an accident !

Wall was courtesy of my homeowner's insurance( windstorm), some of Mexico's finest( Insurance hired them, not me)on the left and my good neighbor on the right who got a favor from the const. company he worked for. Just need to fill in where the short wood fence is to be complete. Kids said thanks!
