Night Ops
« on: February 24, 2010, 01:11:35 AM »
I have been trying to help my neighbor out with his possum problem. And last night I got this fellow at 40 yds with a 18gr jsb behind the right shoulder.I have used the shoulder shot because he would not stop moving and hear lately its seems to do a better job than the headshot. When the shot hit him he flinched and kept on moving and then he looked a little dazed and fell over.

He most likly fell over dead when he spotted that monster rifle pointed in his direction.   Figured he didn't have a prayer and gave it up.

Good Shooting.  And a health looking possum.

Very nice shooting.  Good size country rat.  40yd shot at night in the heart/lungs is something to be proud of.

Is that the 30" long Russian gun?  Nice wood stock.

The Edgun..
« Reply #12 on: February 24, 2010, 12:31:06 PM »
That's the Edgun - from Russia.  There is only 1 importer/dealer in the US you can order them from if you have $1,559.

They are very light and only 30" long, putting out 30-32fpe with 18.1gr JSB's which are known to be very accurate with (around 900fps).  With Kodiaks I would imagine you can get another 1-2fpe out of them possibly but they are most accurate with the JSB's.

I like this gun a lot.  The only thing that I don't know about, is how I would like putting my cheeck on the metal action near the breach.  There is no rubber, or stock or raised cheek-piece, etc. to lean your face on, because of its design which makes it a small carbine.  I 'd probably get used to it quickly I would imagine, especially if the gun is very accurate :)
