Scopes: To Mildot or not to mildot, that is the question

I am looking for a scope while I break in my rws 52.

The question is, if I plan on doing some hunting with it, how important is it to have a mildot reticle?

Have any of you purchased a multi-x or some other non mildot then been disappointed you didn't have that feature?

Please offer me your insight and experience before I rush off and buy a scope =D

Mil-dot with AO is important because you must know the distance and size of your target to effectively use this type of scope. I prefer to use hold over/hold under as most of my hunting is only out to about 30-40 yards max. I guess the real question you should be asking is do you want a mil-dot scope for practicality or novelty purposes? If practical and you know how to use one then great and I think in skilled hands they are very effective. If you want it because you think they look cool or because you wanna be a sniper I'd say buy a duplex reticle scope of better quality. Hope you make the right choice.
