Butt Plate
« on: February 26, 2010, 02:49:31 AM »
I am wanting to change the butt plate on my Hunter 220....does anyone know of a source for a rubber or neoprene butt plate?  I have looked around and been unable to find anything really.  Or am I just shooting in the dark for this?

Hey Kevin, you have a Cabela's, Bass Pro Shop, Dicks' Sporting Goods or Gander Mountian any where close? Those guys stock recoil pads and butt plates. You can also check their online stores. Also try doing a Google of Recoil Pads. I found several by that search. Some of the folks here may know of a good outlet besides these.

This will at least give you several to look at to decide the style and type you would want.

Happy Shooting....and shopping!!!!

Pachmayr's are my favorites. Been added to fine rifles for years.

Pachmayr's actually seem to be what I am favoring without a doubt!  I am wondering on the grind to fit, is that the way to go?  I am adding for the look more than anything, I appreciate all the input guys!  As always the GTA has some excellent resources!

Unless they offer one ready-fit, which I doubt, you will have to fit it.

it will most certainly need to be fitted in some way I was worried to when I redid a custom rifle stock with the decelerator butt pad and it turned out to not be so bad a bench sander was the key and turned out very nice, can not tell it did not come on it
