Got a New/Old Crosman pocketknife on the 'Bay
« on: February 26, 2010, 01:34:01 PM »
I've never seen a Crosman knife before, had no knowledge they did anything other than airguns, airsoft, and stuff like that. I came across this on eBay and couldn't pass it up. Model number 952A, Made in America. Got it for a great price too, I think. Anyone own one of these, or has anyone seen one before? It looks beautiful in the pictures and the fact that it's possibly 30 years old and brand new, with a sheath - kind of exciting.

Here's the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItemVersion&item=260554597966&view=all&tid=0

Edi: Found some info on another site that these were produced in the USA in the late 1980s. Still pretty cool.

Great and a Lucky find Steve !

I tried to see you auction, but it wouldn't show it :(

Being an air gunner and a collector of knives I would have liked to see it ! If you have a moment, please take a photo and post it for us doubly addicted knife collectors :)

Thanks in advance !

Just sealed the deal tonight, so I saved the seller's pictures to show you. Looks nice! It looks like it'll have a good weight to it in my hand, looking forward to it. At the moment, I just have a Victorinox Tinker and Forester, and a Leatherman C301 along with a Skeletool CX. My grandfather's Colonial "electrician's" pocketknife was recently given to me, however it's in no shape to be used, just held on to and passed on again.

Anyway, on to pictures of this pretty Crosman folder:

How do you like that for less than $20 shipped?

Congrats on your new addition.  I have never seen or heard of a Crosman knife.  Pretty neat.

Want a tip?    Never take it with you to any Airport.  I have forgot to put knives in suitcases and had to surrender them to the TSA.  A couple of very nice pieces have left me that way.

Best to put it up on display .

Yeah, definitely wouldn't bring a blade to an airport. I gave one up to security going into a concert once but it was just a tiny souvenir type. Otherwise, some places have safes or bins that they allow you to store them in until you leave, I've done that a couple of times too.

The knife came in the mail today and I'm very happy with it. If you're interested in pocketknives check eBay once in a while for one of these. The price I got this one for is far less than what a similar knife usually sells for. Nice blade, the grips appear to be real wood. The blade locks open with a very satisfying click. A nice weight to it, it feels very solid, well-made. The same goes for the black leather sheath. It is stitched and riveted. There are slots for a belt to slide through on the back and it is embossed NO. 1952A. The flap over the front has the Crosman Blades emblem. Try to find one of these if you can, supposedly they haven't been made for about 25 years. Pretty amazing for a "brand new" knife.
