How hard is it to switch barrels on a Marauder...anyone?
« on: February 28, 2010, 08:43:35 AM »
So I received my replacement Marauder from Crosman this week. Other than the air leaks the first rifle was absolutely immaculate and without a doubt the the most accurate rifle I have ever used. So the second one looks good, it doesnt leak...but...it seems very picky with the ammo and just doesnt stand up in terms of accuracy at all.

So Im wondering...how hard would it be to switch barrels between the two? Other than the air leak the first Marauder was awesome...the second is great too but suffers from accuracy issues (so far)...so my question is to you guys who know about this stuff - how hard is it to switch the two? Ive heard of this done with other rifles but I dont want to ruin both  (or even one) of them in the process.

Maybe I should try and break in number two more before I send one of them back? Not sure...any advice would be appreciated!

matt, break the barrel in and find the right pellet for it. No reason for the rifle to be inaccurate than wrong "food"

As per caliber change you would need .177 barrel with o-ring and bolt probe and mags, should be pretty easy, although I have not tried it.

My Mrod likes Crosman Premier Domed the best. Other pellets just don't shoot as well.

Mine loves the CP's the best. But it gets down right accurate with Beeman Extra Heavies...:)

Kodiaks work wonder in mine. It is very easy to change barrels.

Well Ive been shooting the %$&* out of it for the past few days. This is a really picky rifle compared to the leaky one. I have a large pellet order coming today, hopefully I will be able to narrow down something that works.

If it is spraying pellets all over and the grouping is too wide, it might be the breech O ring. I have seen a few of them which needed a change and became tack drivers with almost all pellets.
