New seals in and shooting great!
« on: March 02, 2010, 01:38:34 PM »
I got the new seals in and it's shooting great! Put about 40 rounds through it then set up the chronology and ran about 30 more through it. I now have 886 fps avg with jsb exact 8.4 gr. Got it sighted back in and ready to go fine toon her for long range again.

Thanks to everybody here for all the links for parts and directions on how to build the spring compressor and disassembly reassembly instructions. If I wasn't for this site I would just have a slow gun. Thanks again all!

Will post pics of the old seal. Wow was it messed up. And I was realy surprised how rough the inside of the gun was when I started the deburring.

Have a good one.

Congrats on your successful rebuild and de-burr.   There ain't nothing like it when a plan/project comes together as you envisioned it.  Don't it make you feel good?

I don't believe I could have torn in to my AGs without the GTA site and put back together successfully.

Good onya DJ. Glad you got it tuned up and shooting fine. Gives you a sense of pride when you "do it yourself". Could always use some photos of the process and the results.

Happy Shooting!!!!

Here is a 15 shot groups from 35 ft. Got her close to zeroed. Was a little cold after spending the evening out in the garage rebuilding it. The other pic is of the old seal. The tears were lined up almost perfect with the groove the cocking lever ran through. You figure if it was going to do that to the seals they would do something about it at the factory. Oh well learned alot about how these guns realy operate adn how easy they are to fix. Cant wait to get it out this weekend I got 2 1 gallon jugs in the freezer. Should be fun.

And the seal kit came with a tuned spring, it will go in the big cat maybe this weekend and the other seal looks like it might fit in the chinese gun I have with blown seals. Will check both those this weekend.

Thanks again for the help all.
