RedFeather, You got a good gun for the money. I have a Mendoza RM200 in .22 It's a carbine size and not as powerful as the 600. I think the sights are the same. The rear sight is not the most user friendly to adjust, but once you get it sighted it works fine. Mendoza's can be picky about pellets. I've found Daisy pointed to be the best. They are cheap and easy to find at Farm and Fleet. I oiled mine at first and it was not consistent. I think the detonation broke the spring so when I tore it apart I removed the felt ring which fits around the piston. I took the largest part of the broken spring and used it with a new spring guide which I made. The Mendoza springs have a lot of preload normally. Since I only used about 3/4 of the old spring the preload was reduced, even with the longer spring guide. The rifle shoots like a dream now. It has less power, probably 400 to 450 fps, but it is dead on accurate up to 30 feet. I use it for indoor shooting and those pesky pigeons. The Mendoza trigger is great. Just don't let it come apart when you tune the gun. It's a PITA to put back together. If you decide that you don't like the gun, which I think is unlikely, let me know. I'd kind of like to own a Mendoza .177. Have fun and enjoy.
