If You Could Only Have Five, Which Five and Why....
« on: March 03, 2010, 11:44:43 AM »

There's the question Gentlemen and Ladies

If you could only have five air rifles, regardless of whether or not they are springers or PCPs which five would you own and why. No trades allowed, no new purchases after five. Once it's yours by hook or crook its your for life or until you decide to give up this hobby for knitting or something. My five would be:

Beeman R10 Deluxe in .20 caliber-Scoped. I would need to scope all my rifles now. I can't hit didly sh*t anymore with out a scope unless I'm using a handgun.

It was the first quality air rifle I ever bought and I've had her longer than my adult children

Theoben Sirocco .177 caliber.

It has a gas ram. It can stay cocked for hours. I've always thought it was a beautiful, elegant rifle. .177 is the most universal caliber and it should put out around 15 ft lbs.

(This is harder than I thought)

Theoben Eliminator in .20 caliber

It is beautiful, powerful (it is still carrying over 22 ft lbs of energy 50 yards down range),self contained, and combines, in my eyes the best of the .177 and .22 with the least tradeoffs.

FWB 300s Universal in .177

The 300s was the penultimate Olympic style spring piston, recoilless air rifle. It is a little harder to come by than an RWS75, although that too was a top consideration,it can be shot bench rested or in a running boar match with equal poise, it can be scoped and I want to start shooting mini-sniping matches.

Whiscombe JW-75 with all four calibers, JW-80 in .177/22 orDual Mag in .22 or a Quigley in .22. Life is too short for cheap Cigars or cheap women (or men as the case may be). As long as we are swinging for the fences we might as well really swing for the fences. (Oops, I'm going to have to put some more thought into this)

I await with baited breath the input and musings of the rest of you Ladies and Gentlemen.

Do we still get to shoot the cool ones we give to our kids? They would get most of my pump guns, my chinese flea market specials and my co2 ones.

I would keep my

Daisy 880 I have had it since I was 14 and have put  probably a million bb's through it with out any problems. It will probably never die.

MY Gamo Hunter, its so accurate and nice to shoot.

Gamo Big Cat. Its accurate and powerful and my next project. Triggers on the way and tuned sring is in the safe waiting to be put in.

Have an RWS 350 mag on the way. Think I would keep it.

And an Air Force Condor in 20 cal. I have always wanted one but they are still  a little expensive for me. But they look so cool.

Gamo Hunter gas piston GRT 3 leapers 3-9x40ao
Big Cat GRT 3 leapers tactedge
Diasy 120
RWS 350 mag PG2 leapers 4-16x50ao
Crossman 2200
Crossman 2250
Crossman 1377
Daisy 880
2 Chinese underlevers
2 European break barrels.

i don't own one because they are like the most treasured airguns in the world.  they are no longer made and if you can find one for sale you will put out $3,000.00 or more for it....i have seen them go for as much as $5,000.00.  but if i had 5 of them, that would be better than having gold bullion. :emoticon:

The 5 listed in my signature. They do everything I want to do with an air rifle. Plinking, hunting, target shooting and more. It's all covered with these. Now all I need is more time to shoot.
