I plan on modding the valve on my 2300KT when it gets here from the custom shop. After studying some of the valve mods,I noticed that some guys are drilling, and tapping the C02 tube on both sides,in order to have 3 set screws holding the valve in place,as a safety precaution, instead of just the one factory location. Is this really necessary?Granted I wouldn't want a modded valve becoming part of my forehead, but it seems like overkill. It seems the valve would have to shear off the set screw, the hammer pin,and the rear, end cap screw in order for the assembly to exit the rear of the gun if a failure occurred. Is there any documented case of this happening?
