I just bought a box of #4 shot yesterday.   I have a good size piece of land to hunt on and last year it was covered up with turkeys.   Only problem is that the coyote population has grown quite large and may have reduced the number of turkeys this year.    We shoot every coyote every chance we get but it seems like for every 1 you shoot, 2 take it's place.

This weekend is opening day and I gotta work.
I'm suppose to go the following weekend.
I got a buddy who is a "champ" at calling.
I'm hoping to get my hunt on video.

I'm in i got 2 last year the first two days. Turkey hunting is sorta easy where i hunt. Nobody else hunts them and there is alot of them. My new goal for this year is to wack one with my bow. I have had a few shots during deer season just to see the feathers fly and the turkeys run away unscathed. They are alot smaller than they look lol. My season opens the first of may, what about you guys? I'm still after that longbeard whose beard drags on the ground. I've had one chance last year during bow season, and he busted me drawing. It's real tough, as i don't bowhunt from a treestand. The guy i hunt with is getting up there in years and tree stands and him just don't agree. Since it's his land, i feel like i shouldn't have anymore of an advantage than him, so i hunt from the ground. I usually make my blinds though i do own a pop up or two. The turkeys roost in the same place every year, so i'm gonna set up the pop up right where they enter the field. Hopefully with some luck, i can get one with my bow. I'm gonna shoot the first one with the winchester though, just to make certain i have one for dinner. Wish i could use an airrifle.
