« on: March 11, 2010, 12:27:13 PM »
Hey guys, I finally gotb my tank and the part that hooks up to it from airgundepot. The part that goes over the air hole on the tank won't fit. Its like the knob is in the way. How do I fix this if possible.. I was so excited this morning when I got the tank back with air but now when I hook it up. And turn the knob air pushes out where the hole in the yake is it seems the adapter is to bigf or something..btw the adapter is for my discovery..any help or guidance will be appreciated

Return it, you need one that fits your k-valve.
Not all clamps fit all K-valves.

This one should fit almost any K-valve

Some come with areas cut away on the bottom side to clear the knob on certain k-valves.

You could grind away enough metal to make it clear the knob.
The other thing you can do is replace the k-valve for 40-50 bucks, or go with the DIN version, but it requires a Din adapter, but it gets rid of the k-valve clearance  issue.

Good Luck, and welcome

I would think you can. But you have to decide if there will be enough metal left to do the job.
What clamp do you have?
What k-valve?
Any links you can give me?

How deep would you have to cut into the side bars.

What if you ground a little away on each side? You know what  I mean?
So you don't have to cut too deep in one of the sides?

You might be able to actually remove less material, by doing it on the side opposite the Knob, because the piece you have to make room for is smaller then the valve knob on the other side.
I'm just making an assumption based on what most k-valves look like.

They make one like that that has areas cut away, like we are talking about.

Hey, what about the plastic knob itself?  could you trim it also?

Thanks guys y'all helped a lot. I can always count on a quick responce from this site and the very knowlegdeable ppl on it. I ground down the side with the knob on it and it works like a charm. I can't wait to get out and do some shooting now...glad I took the jump from the pump to the tank now. May even look at gettin a marauder also
