pindog's right- the Crosman 1377 delivers more gun for $55 than anything out there. A few simple mods you can do yourself in less than an hour with screwdriver and pliers will give you a fistful of accurate power.
The trigger is easily tweaked with stuff you have around the house (fine sandpaper, screwdrivers, pliers). You will want to do that right away.
It is a multi-pump- the more you pump, the harder it shoots- and that is not for everyone, but at 7 pumps out of the box you will have a pretty tough and accuratelittle pistol.
Unfortunately, that's only the beginning... there are zillions of mods and aftermarket accessories you can delve into later. I don't like the pinchy cocking forearm and that is the next thing to go in my opinion. I wish they would raise the price $5 and add a little more beef to the forearm, but maybe that's just me.
Then there are flat top pistons, barrels, mounts, stocks... this is a frequently hotrodded gun and that is another plus, because there is a ton of info and how-tos on the web, including right here, on these little beasts. It is the perfect starter budget pistol and can take pests, and some small game, just as it comes.
