Found it!
« on: March 12, 2010, 02:42:45 AM »
I've been wondering what my next rifle would be, sooooo.....Yesterday I pushed the button on a TF89 in 22 caliber. It's on its way to Mike Melick for a tune as we speak. All my other rifles are 177 so I just HAD to have a 22. I did a lot of research on the forum here, read almost everything you guys wrote about 22s and the TF was highly recommended by a lot of you. Now all I have to do is figure out which scope to put on it. I have a couple of Hawkes awaiting shipment and one of them might work.  They may get here about the same time as the Contender. I have an HW97K coming from Straight Shooters along with those scopes so it may be awhile. I have a couple of extra scopes laying around that might work until the Hawkes arrive.  I just ordered the rifle and already I'm wondering why it's taking so long to arrive. This is the toughest part....I surely hate waiting.

Congrats on the new rifle!  I think you'll really enjoy the TF 89. Mine has been really good and I took it part and lubed it myself.  They have a good trigger too.

As far as scopes, just understand that the scope stop on it isn't all that good.  Mine has a four bolt one-piece mount on it and it holds it rock steady.  You might want to try some RWS Super Domes in it.  They are just awesome in a TF 89.

We of course need pictures and reports about it when it comes in!

My .22 cal (800X) is the only air rifle I used outside now.  While I don't own a TF89 - I'm sure you're gonna enjoy it, especially if you're shooting at 50 yards or so. Best of luck with it, ...
