Hi Andy, I really like this kit, the overall smoothness of the firing cycle is what got me sold. The minor loss of fps is not a real deal breaker. I plan on getting a 34 kit in a couple of weeks, the 34 I have is a nickel one with a T01 trigger, real sweet shooter, the Vortek PG2 kit will kick it up a notch.........Shoot Safe and Enjoy.....Bill

Have you experimented with the breech seal yet?

Mine's stock...except the breech seal and my own lubing. I used a #109 oring with a couple of shims and she screams at 860 with 14.3 CPs on a good day, at best. You might fiddle with shimming your breech seal to see if you can squeeze any more velocity outta her. Too much shimming will give you lockup problems, too little will give you less power, and there's a sweet spot that will give you more velocity and even better consistency...all you have to do is find the sweet spot. But I'd shoot her a little more, before messing with the breech seal, because even with a gasram, the piston seal still needs to break in. A good 500 more shots outta get you where you can mess with the breech seal reliably. You want the breech seal oring to be standing above the breech surface by some few thousandths...not flush. I used the tissue paper test on mine but found no problem...but when I boosted up the height of the breech seal...she gave me more power, found by using a chrony. All my springers have breech seal shims of some type. I like to start out with 5~10 thousandths of shim thickness and see if there's any improvement. If there is improvement, then I do a little more, until she drops in velocity or has problems with positive lockup. Then I go back down, and up back and forth in smaller increments until I find that sweet spot. It takes a lot of time and patience to do it right...but afterwards you know that you've squeezed every last drop of power outta her.

....and some nice silicone grease on the breech oring and shims will help too. If your lacking shim material, try a wrap or two of dental floss underneath the oring...see if that does anything. The floss has a tendancy to blow out in strands after a while but it'll hold up good for a lot of test shots and beyond.
