Yesterday morning WadeS and I are reassembling his Mendoza with a new JM spring at my mini-storage shop. We hear this CAW-CAW sound close by. I grab my TF-89 that I always carry in the back seat of my truck and look around. There is a big, fatty crow on top of a power pole about 25 yards away. He is looking away and doesn't see us. I load an H-Point, set the AO and use the side of the OH door as stabilization. I wait for a couple seconds for it to turn a bit but it doesn't. Wade is urging me to shoot as they are skittish. I fire and you can hear the tell-take Thwack. The crow kinda jumps up about 6" and then falls straight down. The other 8-10 crows then throw a fit, cawing and flying around. We were frequently peering out the door seeing if any others had landed. As we walked over, trying to retreive the crow, we spotted one on a power drop to a nearby house, about 25 yards away. I just about shot at it but realized we're downtown and not in the cover of the shop anymore. Anyway, it fell inside a fence with barbed-wire on top so I didn't retreive it. Maybe tomorrow whent he gate is open.
