.22 CALLAHAN tastes first blood
« on: March 18, 2010, 03:20:14 PM »
SHADOW this one's for you.
I loaded up the CALLAHAN this evening with H&N Barracude Match 21.1 grain domed pellets and ever so gently cranked up the red recticle on my 3x9 scope and silently waited in the shadows for the critters to arrive.
I only sat about 20 minutes before the first contestant of the evening showed up.
A nice fat coon.
It was an easy head on (right between the eyes) shot from about 28 yds.
Two somersaults and a flinch later it had punched its ticket.
It weighed right at 17 lbs.
I think now, I'll give the hide a rest for a few days and let it calm back down before night hunting again.
This PCP stuff is the cats meow baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
